Love Style?

So apparently there are styles of love :D


Not everyone experiences love in exactly the same manner.

Research has shown that love comes in several different forms or styles (see, Lee and Regan). For the most part, people experience love as a blend of two or three of the styles listed below. Essentially, people have different notions of what it means to "be in love."
So apparently there are styles of love...


Styles of Love:

Eros – some people experience love with a lot of passion, intimacy and intensity. Love based on Eros has a strong sexual and emotional component. People who experience love this way want to be emotionally and physically close to their romantic partners and they tend to idealize love. Such love is marked by passion as well as compassion (kindness and consideration). Eros is best viewed as romantic, passionate love - the type of love that creates excitement at the beginning of a new relationship.

Ludus – some people experience love as a game to be played with other people’s emotions. The goal or desire is to gain control over a partner through manipulation. People who experience love as Ludus like to have multiple love interests where they are in complete control. Lying, cheating and deception are common for people who experience love as Ludus – it’s all part of the game. For people who experience love as Ludus, it is satisfying to outwit a partner and exploit his or her weak spots.

Storge – some people experience love as a gradual and slow process. When love is based on Storge, getting to know someone comes before having intense feelings for that person. Love based on Storge takes time, it requires genuine liking and understanding of a partner, and it develops slowly over time. Love based on Storge is often compared to the love that one has for a friend. In fact, people who experience love as Storge often fall in love with their friends.

Agape – some people experience love as caregiving. Love is the overwhelming desire to want to take care of a partner - a parental or nurturing type of love. Love based on Agape is attentive, caring, compassionate and kind - a more altruistic or selfless type of love.

Mania – some people experience love as being out of control. Love is an overwhelming experience; it turns one’s life upside down and it results in a complete loss of one’s identity. Love based on Mania is crazy, impulsive and needy. People who experience love as Mania fall in love quickly, but their love tends to consume them. Love experienced as Mania also tends to burnout before it gets the chance to mature. Such love is often marked by extreme delusions, feelings of being out of control, rash decisions, and vulnerability. People who experience love as Mania are easily taken advantage of by people who experience love as Ludus.

Pragma – some people take a practical approach to love. Love is not crazy, intense, or out of control. Love is based on common sense and reason. People who experience love as Pragma tend to pick a suitable mate the way most other people make serious life decisions: picking a partner is based on careful consideration and reason. Practical concerns underlie this type of love.

The love styles listed above have also been linked to one’s style of attachment.

• Mania is linked to Anxious Attachment
• Ludus is linked to Dismissing Attachment
  

Overall, when thinking about love and relationships, sometimes it helps to keep in mind that love does not always mean the same thing to everyone.


Hmm, so then I guess mine will be Eros (minus the sex thing. I don't do sex) and Agape. :D

So on Saturday, I went to 1 Utama for Nicole's Surprise Party. About half the class was there. Oh and Poh Yee and Ginny came with me too! :D We went there at about 10 something, and we were the earliest. -_-

Then we saw Sheau Swan and Shannon and walked to Pizza Hut. And nobody was there yet.

So we decided to camwhore. :D


After that when everyone arrived, we went into Pizza Hut. And I swear I'm never ever gonna eat there anymore. The food was so gross. :( And I hate pizzas. So we started camwhoring more! :D When everyone finished eating, we made Nicole give a speech. It was so lame. xD



Lunch was over, everyone went separate ways. Some went back, some followed the gang. Me and Ginny went shopping though.

I felt like I bought more. :( But then I spent all my pocket money. And now I'm so poor. I saw a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle though. It was of a girl and a unicorn. I want it so so bad!

After that we met up with Fong and the others again, and took more pictures! Then we went home!

NICOLE FONG!! You're moving to Hong Kong! I'm gonna miss you so freaking muchhchhchhh. You better come back to visit us someday. :D Damn sad though cause I was hardly there on Saturday. Oh well, I'll see you the next time I go to Hong Kong.

So, that's the title of me poem thing that was inspired by MY previous post.

I feel like slitting my wrist,
And watch myself bleed,
Just to feel the pain,
Just to know I'm alive.

But there's nothing,
I cut myself deeper,
Blood flowing like a stream of water,
But I still feel nothing.

It's like I'm numb,
Like I am not human,
Like I do not feel pain,
Like I do not exist.

I get off my bathroom floor,
And walk to the balcony,
To think of another way,
To feel the pain that you feel.

As I stand on my balcony,
Looking over the edge,
Trying hard to avoid the eyes,
That watch me from below.

As I jump over the edge,
Trying to feel the adrenaline pump through me,
I fall to the ground,
Bones shatter but I still feel nothing.

Blood covers the ground,
I hear a scream from where I had jumped,
More people gather around me,
Flashing lights appear from a distance.

As I lose my consciousness,
You run towards me,
A gentle hand touches my face,

But even now I feel nothing.
I don't feel any emotion,

2. People who can't get their facts right.

So yeah, this thing happened awhile back and Lillian told me to post it here but like, i kinda forgot so i better do it now. :D So this thing happened during the two week school holiday break thing in June and we had tuition for like the whole two weeks. We were taking maths and history. Which started around 8.30 am to 10 am for maths and 11.30 am to 1 pm for history.

That meant we had an hour and a half to go lepak la. So it was the second week of the 2 weeks holiday and we were eating at KFC and we started to get lazy of doing our maths homework during our break so after we ate, we walked to Courts M. and we were checking out facial stuff at guardian/watson, not sure which one but it was one of that :D HAHA!

We were like walking around, looking at what to buy and yadayada. After that, we walked into Giant and i walked directly to the perfume section and i saw the adidas womens perfume. Sooo.. me and my itchy fingers went and took one of the box thingy to give it a sniff..

Soo.. there were four types there, Fruity Rhythm [pink box], Tropical Passion [orange box], Pure Lightness [blue box] and Floral Dream [white box] and i already took the first box, which means lillian took the second one to smell [Obviously]. So while i was taking the third box out to smell it, Lillian was putting her perfume bottle [orange box one. :D] back into the box buttt...she forgot to hold the bottom sooo..

IT SLIPPED THROUGH THE BOX AND SMASHED TO PIECES!

Yeah! We freaked out and RAN like crazy monkeys! It was RM 36.89 okay! We were so afraid that someone might catch us cause there was this huge CCTV thing right in front of us! We couldn't believe what had happened. And the best part was that we kept saying
